I don't get it.

Boom! Paywall.

tl;dr Arby's sells horrible roast-beef sandwiches

I'm with you. Is this just some stupid form I fill out for no reason? Or is it going to actually help match me up with people? It might be answered in the video, but I shouldn't have to watch a video to figure out what the point of a web site is.

This is a 2015 New Year's Resolution, so the matchmaking doesn't kick-in until 2015. The purpose of the form is to accumulate a list of mentors and mentees who are committing to this pledge.

Cool fork, bro.

It had the opposite effect on me. I saw that I missed out on free shipping so I didn't order one.

...which is why it should disappear completely after it is no longer relevant.

After all, stores don't leave their signs up after a sale is over. "Oh sorry, yeah - that was $19 yesterday. We sold a ton of them! You can buy it today for $26 though."

I had a similar situation with the Nexus 9 tablet.

"I should get a Nexus 9, I do a lot of Android app development on my Nexus 7 and it is getting long in the tooth, $400... not bad" -> Nexus 9 on sale for half-price on release day (limited quantities) -> Missed the release window -> "Nexus 9 just doubled in price, I don't want to pay $400 for one"

Rationally I recognize that the value of the Nexus 9 relative to the $400 regular price didn't change at all due to the temporary sale, but emotional-response-wise it doesn't matter.

It confused me.

It started as white and 1000/1000, so I wasn't sure if that meant all were available or none were available - I suspected all were available.

Then I scrolled down and the progress bar became blue and looked more as though none were available.

WTF google? You get me interested in a product. I download it on my phone no problem. But then when I go to open it I'm told that it is invite only. I missed this detail in the blog since it isn't mentioned until the end. Knowingly allowing me to download a program I can't even use? This is a perfect recipe for a 1 star review. How it has so many 5 star review is beyond me.

Oh well, I still really want to try it. So I clicked the invite link that makes me use gmail (the app I'm replacing) to send an email. However, it's not a standard mailto link but a link to https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox?compose=new . Seriously? Now I have to type in an email address because Google failed to use one of the most primitive features of HTML. So far my email experience has only been less convenient.

Anyway, I uninstalled it from my phone. I'll just wait a year or so to see if it flops like several of there other products and then maybe install it.

I still don't get why javascript developers put so much effort into a library and don't provide tests for it.

"It scrolls up for me, fixing the video on top"

That's the problem.

Hm, I think it's a feature

Nice but the infinite scroll is unbearable. You have some badness going on there. It completely blocks the UI and it crashes Chrome if the dev tools are open. Good luck.

Thanks! I'm working on fixing that.
