A lot of people are in Florida, so you end up with more headlines then from smaller states...

How fast could google.com be if they trimmed the JS fat?

Thanks. And I have a feeling that it would be much worst (aka better) for a mail.google.com inbox page, even if you keep the useful Javascript. But their javascript is so obfuscated that it is not too easy to test. One time I extracted a simple feature for gmail's javascript... it was fun (probably would be easier for a programmer though)

gmail has a basic html mode that is lightning fast.

I think that Cloudflare has enough data as-is...

This is false for comments... it is true for posts however.

Also, reddit once said that they only keep the latest version of a comment in their database (not sure if it is still true though).... so if you want to really delete a comment from reddit, you have to edit it to some random text and then delete it.

It's false for posts as well, if it's a text post. The text of the post is deleted.

If it's a link post, then it isn't deleted.

that link doesn't work for me... this one appears to be the same thing: http://start.att.net/news/read/category/politics/article/for...

Sorry about that. Its just a brief article.

Heres a no-Javascript version:

    curl -o 1.htm  http://amp.timeinc.net/fortune/2018/03/31/facebook-employees-are-reportedly-deleting-controversial-internal-messages

    sed -i '/<p>/,/<\/p>/!d' 1.htm ;

    firefox file:///1.htm ;

2 different categories, that's all... they both could not compete with each other (more then likely).

and here I was thinking we were already experiencing 1984 (maybe even a bit worst)

Most reported news appears to be negative for some reason... at least in the mass-media

crypto is just like pizza and has nothing to do with currencies in the US, no?

Authorities will go after the platform instead of going after the people responsible.
