Plasma is not efficient, it still uses ton of memory and leaks memory like crazy. Last time I've tried to use it, which was last year I think, plasma-desktop and kwin processes alone used 1.5GB after full day of work.
How do we know this is real Lasse Collin and not the same person behind Jia Tan persona, who now tries to deescalate and make it look like original maintainer is back in charge?
Exactly. Per discussion in the link, the safe versions are 5.2.x and earlier. So, Debian 11 (oldstable) is not affected as it runs 5.2.5, but Debian 12 (stable) could have some other backdoor from the same author.
I switched to Firefox and the main thing that made me stay is that I can actually find stuff in history. Chrome and Chomium based browsers are so bad at history search.
Yes, but when remote workers (or laptop class as some people call it) move somewhere, the need for manual jobs increase as well, because those remote workers eat burgers, fix their teeth, do landscaping, etc. Moving remote workers to cheaper areas can enable manual workers to move as well, and could lead to more even urbanization.
This is in theory, but I think that, unfortunately, most remote workers don't move and choose to stay in expensive overcrowded areas anyway.
