My personal experience, and I think the optimal case, is to come on L1 but apply to H1B via consular interview. This way, if you're ever fired from your job, you use the H1B to get authorization to work in a new company (need to leave the US and get a visa in a consulate), while keeping L1 benefits as possible (spouse can work and no lottery).
Could you elaborate on this a bit more? If your company sponsors you to come on an L1 visa, how can you simultaneously apply for an H1B? And in any case, how can you get the H1B at all without winning the lottery (assuming your employer is subject to the cap)?
> In addition, for those individuals who obtained treaty country nationality through a financial investment, USCIS may require additional documentation to show that the applicant has been domiciled in the treaty country indicated in the application for a continuous period of at least 3 years at any point before applying for E-1 or E-2 classification.
Plus E-2 visa is a non-immigrant visa, so it doesn't give you any kind of special pathway to green card. Might as well apply for an EBx at the outset instead of fiddling with an E-2 visa.
You're missing several. Montenegro and Macedonia are definitely available, and I think also Panama.

EB-5 has pre-country quotas, and for some countries the wait can be quite long (for China it's around 10 years). It also is veeerrrryyyyyy slow, even with the initial form processing taking _years_.
You're right on North Macedonia (which again needs $200k, so terrible value for the $ hence the low takers) but wrong on others. Montenegro suspended its CBI program and Panama never had one, only a residence visa which then you use to naturalize after 5 years (plus it technically doesn't permit dual citizenship although enforcement seems non-existent)
For EB-5, China and India have a waitlist but that's only in the 'unreserved' category. There are new EB-5 categories now that both reduce the investment amount required and processing can be done in a couple months now. If one really wants to immigrate and has the money, EB-5 is still the best choice by far.
Are you american? As a non-american living in the US, the statement from parent post sounds about right to me. Culturally, people sound very confident, even when they have little to no confidence on the content.
That's good advice in that context and speaks to the difference in standards of evidence between normal expository or persuasive writing in school and scientific writing. In a scientific paper if you assert something it's important to flag to the reader what kind of claim this is, eg something demonstrated by other research, something that directly follows from your evidence, or something that could possibly be true given prior knowledge and your evidence.
I REALLY miss Phabricator, Scuba and (gasp) Tasks. Would love to have those back in industry. Far better than Github, Superset (?) and of course the dreadful Jira I have to use these days.
Not only that. This is about a Brazilian app that only works in Brazil. There are similar concepts in Brazilian law but it certainly doesn't use whatever way US define libel.
yes the campaign wasn't so good, and the copa before that was disastrous for brazil, but brazil were still the favorites. They had ronaldo, rivaldo, roberto carlos, cafu, kaka, ronaldinho, lucio, juninho in their line up. Granted Ronaldinho and Kaka were yet to hit their peak, but they were the team. If not for injuries and partying, even romario would have been there.
I just found out this now and I'm upset. I've been a paying user for a long time and won't use attachments anymore. Might as well consider migrating to a different password manager to migrate my attachments. Thanks for letting me know.
I've been using macs for 9 years and never knew about option+click. Granted I've been using apps for window management since forever as the native tools suck or are almost hidden.
Just FYI, holding down modifiers to reveal additional functions is a common theme in macOS. In the Finder for example, try holding down option and shift while looking through menus for a few examples. Holding down option while clicking the close or minimize buttons in apps will also close or minimize all windows for that app.
2 years into being forced to use them for work and this is the first time I even hear anyone mention this. Thanks!, I'll be checking it out first thing in the morning
