All the other suggestions are good (especially the one remembering you that you do not HAVE to spend your free time on side projects). I want to add a small recent anecdotical suggestion.

I was not really burnt down but I noticed I started to loose enthusiasm for “The Craft” (of programming). Surprisingly, what reignited the spark was starting to watch and interact with people livecoding on Twitch. I don’t know what it was, maybe watching people doing THEIR side projects in a playful and relaxed environment make me rediscover the fun aspects of programming.

I like the "MiniMetro" one.

For me, it would be an unbearable clause. But the real question is: How is this even enforced? It looks like as a clause to justify the company for randomly invading the employee personal life.

One of my favourite feature of Overleaf (another cloud LaTeX Editor) is that I can use git to work on my cloud project on my local machine. It seems to me the best of both worlds.

I didn't know that! That does seem like a sweet feature. I'll try it out next time I need to use these services.

You can also sync to github with ShareLaTeX, so this workflow would work too.

Same problem here.
