As long as I can hide the address bar to have more screen real estate and vim extensions work, I am happy..

Apple watch is a 'dumb' phone. I upgraded to watch ultra for this purpose. Just leave the iphone at home or in the car (bonus: one less item to carry). I use browser to check twitter occasionally, but it helps break the habit of keeping phone around all the time. Do miss the camera though..

So what to do if a powerful working machine is needed now, buy the current MBP 16" or go to thinkpad? Disappointed they didn't even upgrade the intel CPU on MBP 16" to the newer version.

I used t490s for a while and that has been my favorite machine since forever. In general ThinkPads are the way to go by the looks of it!

What newer version are you thinking about?

Intel 11th gen H series are nowhere near available.

What's the problem with China's growth? China uses to be a friend when they can only manufacture T-shirts and socks, now a threat when they can even do chips and aircraft? The foreign policy of the US is a failure, wars in mid east and anti-terrorsim has costed too much, and that gave China an opportunity to grow. You cannot blame China for this. The business practice need to be changed for sure, but let's hope there is no war.

Great writing, enjoyed it

Thank you!

Agree with you. That's how free market-based economic works, seeking maximum return. Inside an economy, free market tends to increase economic inequality and monopoly, which seems to be the major source of many things going on (Trump elected, protests in HK, France). When this happens, blaming Johnny Foreigner is easier..

I received news from mainland China, Taiwan and US media. Most of the US news (even NYT) are indeed often biased toward China and of course same for Chinese media. The biases contribute greatly to the increasing animosity between the two worlds.

I understand they want to hold the principles they value, but practically, I think it will do good to Chinese living there to have Google's presence in China, by providing a not-so-much-censored alternative/competitor to Baidu etc.

If you have vim fingers like me, vivaldi + surfingkeys is probably the closest to replace vimperator+ firefox.

Using Saka Key atm, should be available on chrome too.
