What a cool site, any documentation on other operators?

What I do when looking for words is go to `/usr/share/dict/` and grep for things, for example `grep 'su$' american-english` gives me:

  Amaterasu
  Fujitsu
  Ginsu
  Ieyasu
  Iguassu
  jujitsu
  shiatsu
  tiramisu

All registered.

oh thanks. It was just some toy I made playing with golang and tries a few years back. It uses some linux word file as input, I just forget which. From memory, I think these are all the endpoints...

  /startswith/xyz
  /endswith/xyz
  /contains/xyz
  /anagrams/xyz - exact match anagrams
/canmake/xyz - all words that can be made with that combination of letters

Interesting read, fair point that they are already breaking the possession part of the law but have received a special dispensation, they could apply and receive a dispensation for the sale as well.

This is awesome! Thanks so much for sharing, how do you handle increases or changes in activity during a sprint?

I do put notes about my workouts or anything out of ordinary, but in general I just trying to keep it down to number of point (which no longer represent 100kcal anymore) and adjusting total number after each "sprint" and its results.

I had a very similar experience, replace baling hay with mowing lawns. I was an awkward shy homeschool kid but going into circuit city and getting that 32mb mp3 player on Black Friday made me feel like the coolest kid in the world.

100% Moving away from the midwest its one of the things I miss most

You can do the 2 weeks onsite onboarding thing, the issue is that once you starting hiring developers with families, that becomes a negative more than a positive.

We use a combination of a good quality trello board with some standard activities, good 1o1 scheduling for the first 2 weeks, and scoping out small independent tickets that gives an engineer a solid base to build on.

Slack has been invaluable, and also setting a standard of face to face webcam meetings being non optional. Yes even in a remote role.

Even in 2018, theres no replacement for being able to look at someone face to face and ask them "anything on your mind ?"

Other good things, having a regular all hands to get the entire team on the same page, and scheduling company retreats

you can usually skip a round or 2, and also get a bit of leniency

Wouldn't you rather just set some base standards for construction and let people choose where to live? Greenspace rules, parking spot regulations all seem to stifle growth.

I would gladly pay for an extra spot, and I'm sure developers would build more monthly garages a la NYC.

Exactly, these overly restrictive codes and zoning are just a few people inflicting their exact life style on others.

It's super hard to convince all those single family home owners at meeting that I actually like density, and choose to live in the densest part of my city because I like it. I'm not alone, there are a lot of us! But others prevent us from living in our preferred way for no good reason.

I understand you like dense housing, but not having a car in LA severely limits where you can work. The nice places to work are not clustered in downtown (which is all you could realistically do if you had not car). The greater LA area is very car centric, and I'd find it hard to believe you'd find it convenient to live in LA proper and commute to, say, Anaheim (or even Brea) without access to a car.

Not building parking spaces in LA would be denying the realities of living there.

To take a page from the anti-SB827 forces, why have one size fits all? Why should I pay 33% extra on my housing if I can get by without a car? For example, maybe I live and work in Santa Monica, and can bike, walk, and ride share?

Refusing to allow people to go carless has a predictable result, that is self enforcing. I would say that "denying reality" is when people refuse to allow others to be different from them.

And it's not just LA, it's the entire state.

thanks for sharing that link, I had read it a long time ago and was recently looking for it.

Great read, I had someone do reply driven coding the other day in a screen share except they didn’t mention or speak about what they were doing 30 min into a problem and they had yet to open an editor!
