Nintendo could lead such development and benefit both from royalties and free advertising of their products. Instead, they just want to kill the results of their fans (!) hard work. Can't say, how greedy and cowardly they look amidst this story.
If you don't sell your successful products legally in any way, there always would be one who can do it
Which proves ancient statement "Greed and cowardliness rule the world". I'm sure, there are people even in Western democracies, who perfectly aware where their outsource projects comes from. Not to say about China and Russia - they use slave labor of North Koreans for decades. Slaves from North Korea built stadiums for World Cup 2018 [0] in Russia. Everyone there knew about it (I'm Russian as well), there was plenty of evidence. Did anyone boycott the games?
Answer is simple - do not trust all your digital life to Google. I would say, trust them as few as possible. Most of the content you created and saved under their account - your documents, spreadsheets, and photos can be accessed, modified and redistributed according to Terms Of Service.
Apply common sense and diversification. Use different services for your email, cloud storage, photos and videos. Have a backup of your every service - mirror of your cloud drive, reserve email, locally stored credentials in any offline password manager.
I was working from home for the last 5 years, and really miss office environment. I definitely would not come back to 9-to-5, but I desperately need one day for collaboration in person, I miss socialization and coffee breaks with colleagues, and my home turned into office long time ago, whereas it should be my "fortress" of relaxation and quality time with the family. I seriously considered moving all operations to coworking, but COVID-19 stopped me for a while
Should YouTube ban the interview with the President of the United States, where he suggests injecting desinfectant or hand sanitizer to treat COVID-19?
A lot of things have been said, how communication is easier in person. I would simply add I miss socialization, chatting to colleagues during coffee break, extremely productive brainstorming during lunch and so on
That's not the first solution, when gaming console gave access to hardware through simple programming language for the purpose of entertainment and education. There was Sega Saturn Game Basic [0], published in 1998 and giving access to almost all console hardware capabilities.
However, 2020 is not 1998, and I personally consider Basic a bit outdated even for education purposes. Don't get me wrong, it's a great tool to introduce world of programming to kids, but Python would have been much more practical and extremely simple to learn.
Russia also advocating anti-vaccination movement [0] for quite a long time already, basically any conspiracy freaks, who can make US existence as a state more complicated.
I'm Russian national myself is any. I do not support our regime of course, and left Russia a while ago. But US being so defenseless in the face of that threat surprising me.
