This is going to be very very useful! It's going to make setting up a staging environment much easier, since we are already using vagrant for dev environments.

I wonder if there will be any support for assigning Elastic IPs.

I use LastPass Enterprise edition, everyone at the company has an account and we share some role account passwords via shared folder in LastPass.

Inside engineering, we have been experimenting with a shared keepass db that we move between machines directly using git.

PARTTIME / REMOTE - Massachusetts or Northeastern USA.

Small distributed team at a bootstrapped and profitable healthcare software company (8 people). We make tools that help people diagnosed with mental illness get their lives back, very fulfilling work. Looking for a part time finance director as we grow from 1M to 10M in revenue. Remote OK, troublemakers OK. I've worked remotely for 10 years at a variety of companies, and this crew is great, a very pleasant team to work with. We have one SaaS product written in Rails and are launching a second. https://www.patdeegan.com/blog/posts/finance-director-job-op...

Yes, we're partnering with 7Digital.

We'll be looking to see if there are any simple changes we can make to the codec installation experience when mp3's are played the first time, but no major changes from how it works in Ubuntu 9.10.

Initially this will only work in Rythymbox, but we're making a GTK widget that should make it easy for other players to embed the music store as well. You can see up to the minute code here: https://edge.launchpad.net/libubuntuone and follow along with progress here: https://blueprints.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/lucid-ubu... .

At the moment we've got music purchasing basically working and are cranking along on getting downloading finished, and building packages. Hopefully there will be something people can start playing with in the Alpha3 release of Ubuntu 10.04.

Will it be available worldwide or only in a few countries (I see 15 on 7digital.com)?

While we launched the beta today with file sharing, our plan is to make Ubuntu One much more than a file sharing service: http://en.oreilly.com/oscon2009/public/schedule/detail/8843 "Ubuntu One provides shared synchronised storage and databases for developers: you store your data and Ubuntu One takes care of making it available to every other person and every other machine you’ve shared it to. In addition to this set of simple APIs which you can use to get synchronised data, Ubuntu One also offers services built on top of these: work with your users’ contacts to make it easy to share information with other people, and build services on top of all these APIs which work everywhere, both from the web and from the desktop."
