The market share of iOS in the EU is only around 35% though. The market this is about isn't the market for music streaming apps but the market for iOS apps.
They don't "allow" it, but most apps that need background execution just ask permission for geolocation tracking and pretend to use it, for example iSH[1]. There are a few activities that the app can do to prevent itself from being suspended when it goes out of focus, like playing sound, geolocation etc.
And you're at the mercy of Apple deciding to remove your app for violation of the terms when it gets more popular. This is what the EU wants to fix with its new directives that level the anticompetitive playing field.
Apple can remove your app for whatever reason anyway, pretty sure every single company has that clause buried in their ToS somewhere. It's not like they constantly exercise it, but it's more for "just in case we really want to"
Sure, but "they were abusing permissions to keep their app burning your battery" sounds a lot better for Apple than "it was competing with Photos too effectively".
One of the big differences though is iOS apps can only be provided by Apple. If the google store policies restrict you, you're free to distribute the app yourself. There are well known examples of this. Telegram from the play store blocks adult content its aware of. They also distribute an APK on their website without that if you want it.
In Switzerland the two major grocery stores have this system. You need to establish trust first, for the first few months you'll get more inspections. But I haven't been checked in years now.
I run Manjaro Linux with i3wm on a T14s gen3. I connect to two 2560x1440 external monitors via thunderbolt 3 dock.
I wish I could say it is 100% stable. It's close, and close enough for me to rely on it. Occasionally when I plug in to the dock the external monitors do not activate. Also if I plug in power while suspended, it powers on. I have face unlock working, which is nice. I have problems with connecting my Samsung bluetooth earbuds, but I haven't tried very hard to make that work well.
Idles at around 5 watts, which is nice. Real world use is around 6-8 hours battery, which is just about good enough for me. I had an X1 Extreme gen 3 before and it was the battery life that made me change. Before that a P51s which I do miss because of the clunky docking station and numeric keypad. It was too heavy though, and battery only just ok, even with two batteries including extended at the rear.
Shortly. T14s Gen 4 AMD are certified (you can check on the Canonical website), but (from official sourcec) Lenovo hasn't made available (due to internal testing) the Linux image yet.
How the image relates to upstream... I have no idea.
You can exclude certain playlists from the list of stuff that is considered when creating the recommendations. Tap the three dots on a playlist and tap "Exclude from taste profile".
It very much depends on the tags you use. Swift and iOS is absolutely abysmal and questions will be closed as duplicates of questions that have been irrelevant for years.
Go and Haskell are great though.
Android is as bad or worse. I wonder if SO's quality could be improved by a restart -- no closing questions because they're duped of something pre-restart. And FFS mandate that questions and answers include version numbers for all relevant software.
