I agree - we (New Relic) have left the install process up to the plugin authors. Hence, plugin installation effort varies widely ; )
In the future you are likely to see some improved installation options, however because you can truly monitor _anything_ with New Relic plugins (at least, for now, anything that emits or can be made to emit time-series numerical data) it is unrealistic to expect that there will be only one, consistent install experience for everything.
In other words, installing the plugin agent to monitor your MongoDB will probably always be different from installing the plugin agent to monitor your John Deere tractor.
I remember a satellite channel experimenting with the idea of airing playthroughs of games. They were usually abridged to around 3 hours and did not contain the average playthrough banter you get with most LPs. Personally I enjoyed watching it when I with my dad. I have no idea if they're still around though or what the channel was called.
EDIT: I was trying to find it and found references to the show Cinematech although I'm fairly sure I watched a full playthough of Hitman and most of the cutscenes from Far Cry instead of just trailers over the course of 30min.
On Windows my sound drivers include something called stereo mix. You can record this through audacity to get their side of the conversation. To record yourself as well you need to set your mic to playback through your speakers, but then you hear yourself speaking.
There may be a better way, but that's what I've always done if I needed to record on Skype.
It probably depends on your sound card, and whether it can record from more than one source at a time. Many older sound cards only had a single stereo input, but it's not uncommon for newish motherboard-integrated HD Audio chipsets to support recording from multiple sources.
If you (still) use an emu10kn-based card (such as the SB Live), the kX project drivers allow custom routing, mixing, and alteration of inputs and outputs via the card's built-in DSP chip.
As for the varnish plugin I had to edit the gemfile to have
It would be fantastic if it eventually got as simple as their PHP plugin or regular monitoring is to install.
