Interestingly, there used to be an option to block domains: https://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2011/02/block-domains-from...

I currently recommend Kagi.com, it can block but also pin selected domains at the top of the results list.

News or programming / development.

On first pages, many clickbaits and generated spam sites.

Do you have any example queries? The only spam I normally see are the sites scraping Stack Overflow but they are never above the actual Stack Overflow page.

> Average users may not pay, but specialized users may pay and pay more than enough to subsidize some sort of free tier.

If I can, I'm happy to pay, so others doesn't need to. I don't understand why I'm in minority and most of the people thinking only about themselves.

I'm happy to pay because for many years I also had to use free services, paid by others (or ads, but ads I'm blocking however I can).

Yes, I noticed this too.

I'm afraid what happens to 1Password since they get big funding recently.

I never even tried you.com because I see nothing (I don't enable JS for sites I don't trust).

> Isn't this the way the internet is supposed to work? If I link to a page and the page is removed, it'll not show, right? Same thing if I were to add that page as an iframe on my site.

But the link still will be on your site.

> Just taking a screenshot, and linking to the tweet, seems like a more robust solution, that won't randomly stop working, and doesn't have the same privacy issues.

And have none accessibility.

You can include a copy of the text along with a screenshot, or put it in alt text…

No, it is not for that.

Nothing. But I don't do "video calls" - never was and never will be.

> It's kind of sad when the supposed experts choose to badly screw up stuff that had already been figured out.

Most "experts" I meet know... nothing. They don't know basics of their jobs, they don't think how their design / code will have effect for people other then... them.

And Lipu doesn't work without JS...
