1/ Do you what countries are allowing third country nationals to get an H1B visa stamp?

2/ When will Canada and Mexico allow that?

PS: It seems impossible to get an appointment in my home country.

That's the $64,000 question because it changes all the time and so is incredibly challenging and frustrating. That being said, the trend is definitely toward the opening up of consulates in general and to third-country nationals in particular. Many of the US Consulates in Europe, for example, have opened up. We're also seeing a positive change as a result of the lifting of the travel ban on November 8th. Regarding Canada and Mexico, there's been no announcement but I suspect soon - and Mexico is accepting TCN applications but only on an emergency basis.

Is there an email or twitter handle I can connect on? There might be an interesting project for us to collaborate on.

Hi Peter,

What are ways for someone on h1b to start a company they want to bootstrap. My co-founder is a US citizen but how do the new salary changes affect how much money we need to pay to keep the h1b valid.

Can the exam be the confounder here, where the exam is just not good at differentiating the different in educational experience between the universities.

Second the job interview and exam might just be looking for skills on different dimensions ?

Yes that is a possibility in this sort of research design. The exit-test scores are obviously taken as proxy for educational quality and the study cannot test for any "secret sauce" beyond that.

On the other hand, there's only so much one can do with observational data doing these sort of causal analyses. I'd say its still an interesting outcome.

Donating to under-served communities that are using the computer for the first time. They can derive a lot of value out of the old machines like learning to type, basic internet usage etc.

It generally takes more than 60 days. I think it should be within 90 days ideally but I have seen it go till 100+ so I don't think you need to panic.

Just keep checking the status online and you should see it change in about 2 weeks.

I wish they would have a more open application process especially for junior developers or new grads.

I have seen D3js used for a lot of visualizations. http://d3js.org/
