I use https://github.com/kfix/ddcctl to change inputs on my external Acer EB275K (bmiiiprx) from my Mac. Brightness can also be adjusted.
Simplified the usage by creating shortcuts in Keyboard Maestro that runs short ddctl commands.
I got one r-pi zero running pi-hole at .220, and another pi-hole on a server dockerized at .221.
If that server goes down, another server has a dockerized pi-hole that takes over the .221 IP.
The failover is handled with keepalived.
At parents house they got one r-pi set as DNS 1, and 9.9.9.9 as DNS 2.
I truly despise toasts. They slide up or fade in in all corners or center top/bottom. But never in my visual field. Add to that 2x27” monitors and they are either missed or a distraction.
Unraid have them, but they are customizable and offer history. Thats ok.
How difficult can it be to put a message next to the task, or in the center of the screen?
Or offer a proper log of messages, such as Unraid does?
I wonder what EU will come up with in the future, some kind of digital cash? Private transactions that must work instantly with all banks doing business in the EU?
Several countries here have their own solution, but none of them are compatible with each other. (Please correct me)
Since a few years ago, the ECB is already looking into the possibilities for implementing a digital euro as another way of paying across the entire Eurozone. The phrase "digital euro" has been kind of a political boogeyman because of the privacy concerns (fair) and implications that the physical euro might disappear (less fair, the right to be able to use it as legal tender is enshrined in the EU treaties and that can't be changed without everyone agreeing to it), but the base idea is to create a public infrastructure that would do what payment processors and credit card companies are doing for a hefty fee right now. Which, to me, sounds like a great answer to this problem.
There is also the European Payment Initiative (EPI). It's an organization set up by a group of banks to streamline payments around (AFAIK) SEPA instant credit transfers.
While I'm highly skeptical of shared initiatives by European banks, I'm far more skeptical of CBDCs, and the current EPI plans seem to be slightly less bad than current payment processes, power and privacy wise.
They're just as slow as you'd imagine though. It'll probably be usable by 2050 or something..
Had it for years. The security, convenience and not having to wait 2-3 days for a replacement is great.
At work they haven’t supplied users who select an iPhone with physical SIM the last two or so years.
Even my mom had her new phone set up with an eSIM.
Never heard of any issues, and our department has 100s’s of devices with eSIM.
It's pretty easy to get in contact with someone most of the time if you search for relevant roles on google with site:linkedin.com, or if you want to reach execs, on their business pages. I usually include several combinations of first and last names @company.com so like I will email to JSmith@company.com and JohnSmith@company.com and others. This is useful for escalating customer service complaints if you're just hitting a brick wall with the low level customer service staff.
They do have a vulnerability policy page, but that was harder to find than figuring out an email address. I did suggest they implement security.txt, as it would have made things easier.
Week numbers is achievable (probably allocate a 10px column on the left), but starting day of the week is more of a personal preference I think. Will leave it for the user to decide.
