and from the comments on that blog:

> The code your referring to .. the unknown c++ looks like the older IBM compilers found in OS400 SYS38 and the oldest sys36.

> The C++ code was used to write the tcp/ip stack for the operating system and all of the communications. The protocols used were the following x.21(async) all modes, Sync SDLC, x.25 Vbiss5 10 15 and 25. CICS. RSR232. This was a very small and powerful communications framework. The IBM system 36 had only 300MB hard drive and one megabyte of memory, the operating system came on diskettes.

> This would be very useful in this virus. It can track and monitor all types of communications. It can connect to everything and anything.

But this comment doesn't ever mention specifically what makes his suggestion "look like" the given examples. I find it highly unlikely, given all the available networking/comm libraries available that old, proprietary IBM code would be used. Maybe there's something to it, but he certainly didn't mention anything convincing.

More unusual (to me) is that there are two separate comments suggesting it may be RPG (an OS400/iSeries language), which is very unlikely due to it not being an OOP language therefore not having constructor/destructor functionality, and otherwise a very high level language.

I'd guess some high level assembly, though this suggestion does look interesting.

When I read these kind of sentences I always think of Plan9 first

reddit needs more democracy

I trusted Google, I bought their products and I used their services, I bought a nexus one and always said yes to them monitoring my data, I thought it would help them understand me better. I loved wave, got into the plus beta, I thought Google was part of my brain.

Then they banned me from G+ for using my own name. The appeal process took two months, was entirely impersonal and finally resulted in me remaining banned. When combined with their widespread censorship, capitulation to corrupt governments and the new privacy policy.. As far as I am concerned, I am not leaving Google, Google left me.

DDG's default search is Bing.

And what about Tesla remotely tracking vehicles without the owner's knowing?

He doesn't entirely disagree, Ubuntu has a huge user segmentation model, as he said, you'd need to repeat the tests for each user type.

I would like to see Tesla's response to this. I was going to pre-order a model X, i won't be now, until I know I won't be tracked and the car won't brick itself.

I don't think this design is actually for keyboards, keyboards are just the intermediary step to voice, which casual computer users might well use more than even a mouse, if it works.

Oh, please, no.

I already hate the chimes and beeps and twiddles that echo around the office. The very last thing in the world I want is to have it filled with the previous sounds and "computer: open file january report"

And, personal preference aside, there is no way that I can speak the _commands_ as fast as I can type them. For long paragraphs of natural prose, voice recognition is okay; for specific things, not so much.

Google lost me at Nymwars, they banned me, a loyal customer who had given them loads of money, for using the same name I use all over the net. That was the binary switch for me, perhaps they had been eroding my trust for years, but there was a clear snapping point where they jumped from good guys to bad guys, and it was a calculated business move on their part.

I am now weening myself off google, its hard, they own half the net, but when their own employees are being silenced for defending my best interests, it is time to leave.

I love the idea, but there is no way I am moving to the US, especially not to start a tech company, even if you pay me. Silicon valley may have a lot of talent and money, and Y combinator is awesome, but I'd rather not deal with the TSA, the DEA and the DHS. Fascist oligarchies are not conducive to startups.
