Friend of mine works for the "daycare" for elderly. Medicare fraud is rampant. People finding all kinds of ways trick the system for easy money. Recently her employer got a visit from law enforcement for fraud investigation and few other places around run into similar issues.

Elderly care is the new fraud.

It used to be opiod rehab back in the 2010s. There were companies that went from 2M operations to ~100M in about 3 years. That's unheard of in the services industry. I would almost call it ARR because people were getting sucked right back into recovery and govt would still pay.

Crazy times.

If there is a contract between DigiCert & Alegeus Technologies, stating that DigiCert could potentially revoke contracts within 24h and Alegeus client contracts state that clients have more than 24h to deal with expired certs, then I feel like it's Alegeus problem, who over-promised to their clients and should have carefully read their contracts.

More to the point, Alegeus should have a system in place that can re-issue certificates within 24 hours since that is the timetable that their registrar works under.

The lawsuit smells like them trying to buy time to fix their IT problems. Even if it loses or gets tossed out all they needed was that preliminary injunction. It's really sucky for DigiCert who have to choose which party to anger, the courts or the browser manufacturers, just because this healthcare company doesn't have its act together.

It would seem that the contact between DigiCert and Alegeus said nothing about revocation.

The Master Services Agreement (https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.utd.149...) states:

> The Service Specific Terms are incorporated by reference into this Agreement

> “Service Specific Terms” mean additional terms specific to certain Services as set forth at www.digicert.com/service-specific-terms, which are incorporated herein to the extent applicable to any specific Services procured by Customer hereunder (which includes the Certificate Terms of Use with respect to Customer’s use of any Certificates).

https://www.digicert.com/service-specific-terms states:

> The Certificate Terms of Use available at www.digicert.com/certificate-terms (the “Certificate Terms of Use”) apply to Certificates other than Qualified Certificates and PKIoverheid Certificates requested or issued by Customer. The applicable Certificate Terms of Use are incorporated herein by reference.

https://www.digicert.com/certificate-terms states:

> DigiCert may revoke a Certificate without notice for the reasons stated in the CPS, including if DigiCert reasonably believes that:

> Industry Standards or DigiCert’s CPS require Certificate revocation, or revocation is necessary to protect the rights, confidential information, operations, or reputation of DigiCert or a third party.

yes !!! My only concern is that trump administration will try to reverse the decision.

The only thing he could do is make an executive order which would be overthrown the second it was challenged in court. He's not going to do squat.

You should have more concerns than that - there is a good chance that this will get blocked by the Supreme Court given some of their other recent jurisprudence around regulatory authority.

Where have you seen that Trump wants to do that? The current Republican Party is more pro-labor than it’s been in a while.

You mean the legalized child labor in the rust belt ? I keep hearing kids dying in meat packing plants ...

I was going to say, Dave did a great job covering the issue, despite the fact that he hasn't worked on Windows kernel for a lot time (10y+, if not for 20y+). But in general, there is a lot of "parroting" going on from people who know very little or specialists in this field.

former Governor Phil Bryant signed docs to allocate those funds. Plain and simple. He claims ignorance. It wasn't a pocket change, he should have been aware of what he was signing and where those funds came from. It is plain corruption and he is trying to get back at the journalists for exposing his corruption.

I saw the interview with the former official who filed the lawsuit. He claims that he is not doing this in spite, but only because his name been dragged into it. He signed the funding !!!

> is it illegal to carry any type of blade in public ?

My impression from what I have seen through the years in the news (I live in the US), this is the case. I remember seeing London police would setup check points in the metro and check passengers for knifes. To my surprise, most common weapons they would find - kitchen knives.

My interviews in the decade before the rise of leetcode, were algorithmic questions very similar to leetcode. Surprise !!!! I think people are crying way too much about leetcode.

I haven't had to be an interviewee in 6+ years, but I can understand why people are upset. Competing with other applicants who spend dozens of hours per week memorizing leetcode solutions sounds not fun.

I'm actually curious about this as well. Would like to hear some opinion.

with computers and drone tech, you can get back to "aerospace" for a fraction of the penny as a hobby.
