Nothing in particular. Just nice to have structured data that I can start mashing together to show in a presentable format. Spreadsheets don't handle images and you can't run a report.
What's the best way to expose random CSV/.xlsx files for future joins etc? We're house hunting and it would be nice have a local db to keep track of price changes, asking prices, photos, etc. And look up (local) municipal OpenData for an address and grab the lot size, zoning, etc. I'm using Airtable and sometimes Excel, but it would be nice to have a home (hobby) setup for storing queryable data.
I was in the stands in the hairpin when I saw Kubica go flying by. Seeing his head bobbing from side to side made me think that he was dead. I managed to capture some pics of the crash and wrote a blog post about it, and other racing accidents.
I'd wager to guess that most would chose the Porsche. I know I did. You can see mine, which happens to be a 1973 911E as Paul chose for his article, here: http://www.octanenation.com/custom/1973-porsche-911/254/
OctaneNation is my startup.
Further evidence that the 911 is desirable: http://www.hagerty.com/valuationtools/HVT/VehicleSearch/Repo...
Mine sold for around $10.5k in 1973, and Haggerty says the average value now is $54k. Using an inflation calculator says $10.5k is equivalent to $53k today... Interesting.
The same Hagerty valuation tool shows the Cadillac is worth around $8k.
Some good points. Our 'branded official news source' is already up and running on a subdomain using WP.
I was thinking of writing blog posts that go into more detail about the technology stack we're using, A/B tests, customer acquisition strategies etc. These types of blog posts don't seem like a good fit on the official blog.
Your comments about focusing on the community vs platform/technology is a nice practical insight. Cheers
