I came here to write this will get flagged, and I was already too late. We need a new "HackerNews"

Check out the hackernews sub on rdrama.net

I did check it out just now.

Login required.

During signup, one must check a box stating "I swear lifelong allegiance to the state of Israel"??

An edgy forum like kiwifarms, apparently. The Red Scare podcast has an instance of the same software and has this checkbox text instead: "By checking this box you agree that you are not, have never been, and will never be fat, physically or spiritually."

We are decidedly not like kiwifarms. rdrama is about having fun, not being mad on the internet.

rdrama also shouldn't require accounts to read if they want engagement. Lurkers are 10X, don't block them. That's X's biggest technical issue currently, discounting the weird strategies around the wokeism-strawman and supporting apparent malefactors.

It's a temporary thing. But there's no harm in making an account, I don't think you even need to verify your email.

You should make an account, you can use a temp address. And that's a joke, to keep out people that take things too seriously.

how do I join? :D are you guys hiring at cloudflare per chance?

built something like this around 10 years ago, went viral for a while, it didn't last long.

definition is not the dangerous part, nor surpassing any predefined definition.

not great news in light of USTech100 & SP500 downturn

you follow HN, and some guy posts a video editing js library, another guy builds an app taking that library further, you get inspired and build something even bigger.

everything is literal in programming communities, lmao.

this is why servo-powered robotic arms are not interesting to me at all. I want one with brushless motors and harmonic or planetary drive gearbox. unfortunately you cant build those under $750 as far as I have seen so far. that's putting aside the added complexity. but I will definitely build one some day. there are quite few opensource projects with that setup.

I believe it offers higher torque, better precision and ability to just stick to a position with relatively low/or no power due to gearing-side resistance.

can this be self-hosted?

Not yet, what use case do you have in mind for self hosting?

I am sure folks at /r/selfhosted would love it.

This comment hit the nail in the head. Content marketing at its best.
