I bought a Ford Maverick a few weeks back and absolutely loving it. It’s the size of what used to be the Ranger before the Ranger grew to be an F150, the F150 grew to be an F250, and so on.

I have a job where I do actual work. I have clients who require my assistance to perform their jobs effectively. However, the jobs _they_ are doing fundamentally do not add value to the world. In turn, that means my job adds nothing of value to the world. Yes, I am on anti-depressant medications primarily because I am wasting my time on this planet performing a bullshit job.

Nah...Apple Watch batteries last 2-3 days nowadays with the proper settings. There are cellular Apple Watches available that do not require the paired phone to be close to make calls, texts, etc.

Maybe some of those employees don't want to return to Blizzard offices _in particular_ considering that's where many of them were outright sexually assaulted?

As a VW ID4 owner, I say "Good." My overall summary of the vehicle is that I absolutely love the part of it that is a car. I absolutely loathe the part of it that is a computer.

The infotainment system is the worst piece of consumer technology I've interacted with in easily a decade or more. It's truly bottom tier. It would be better off if the only function it had was connecting to CarPlay and that's it. Of course, connecting to my phone via Bluetooth also takes 5+ minutes, so that is also subpar.

But, it isn't only the infotainment that's an issue. The software that controls core functionality of the car is busted. Some examples:

* Unlocking the passenger/rear doors. When using the key fob, sometimes they unlock and sometimes they don't. There's no rhyme or reason to what's going on. The lock/unlock capacitive "button" on the driver's door is essentially non-functional. I usually just end up leaning over and opening the passenger door manually rather than trying to figure out how to unlock it.

* I've had situations where it seems like the windows operate as a boolean rather than a float. Meaning, I put the window down about 1/3 of the way. But, when I tried to put it back up it just wouldn't move up AT ALL until I put the window fully down, then I could roll it back up. Almost like the isOpen flag variable had not flipped value.

* Many times I've gotten into the car and it gives me all kinds of warnings about the electrical system erring out. The only way to fix it is to put the car in park and physically get out of the car, shut the door, wait 10 seconds, then get back in.

* The collision avoidance system will routinely slam on the brakes for no reason when entering/backing out of my garage.

* The seat position profiles are just a cluster. It doesn't even get the seat position remotely close to where I saved it previously and setting/adjusting it is unintuitive.

My wife and I bought a VW ID4. It's "smart" voice command keyphrase is "Hey ID". _Every_ time one of us says in conversation, "I have an idea" it kicks on. So, now we have to talk around it and never use the word "idea" in conversation while in the car.

Ideal world:

The only thing the screen does is backup camera and provide bluetooth connection to CarPlay and AA and _maybe_ some tucked away very rarely used settings for things I definitely don't need while driving. No car company is going to write software that is better than CarPlay because a: they aren't Apple and b: my phone is also where all of my music, podcasts, contacts, map history, etc. is located.

Everything else has a physical button.

Russia lost something like 27 million dead in WWII. The most recent figure I can find for this war (from November) is 100,000 dead. Russia has plenty of people remaining they can throw into the meat grinder.

I keep hoping and wishing that Rivian will add CarPlay support to the R1T. It's the only electric pickup truck that I'm remotely interested in right now, but no CarPlay is an absolute non-starter. It disqualifies that truck as a purchasing option for me (and I suspect many others). For now, I'll keep saving and waiting.

And I had just started working through a Salesforce Admin certification course to pursue applying for some jobs there. Suppose I can just save that time and do something else now!
