I am not a native English, have trouble to grow the vocabulary.
So I created a web app to help learn word roots by examples.
Key features:
1. search the word root or matching the whole word
2. Root action to show or hide the word root, then you can catch if you have master the word root.

I use Slack with 24x7, and read HN almost everyday.
When I am chatting and inputting some url, beside the slackbot give me the page snapshot, I also want to get the HN item. Since HN are already decade year, the url should be hit very often.
And I also want to get the replies for my HN ID in slack.
And I also want to follow some interesting HN thread but without too much noise.
So it should be worthy to give a bot app to deal with such things automatically. Then the slack bot - @HN get real.
Hopefully HNBot can add you and your team two cent fun.

I agree "Ship it" part.
My previous side projects is always by this styles: "good idea" (1 week) => develop it (2 week) => "not satisfaction" （several days） => abandon => next idea ....
The passion always dispears after one month, so in one month, need ship it.
BTW, the Show HN is really really good channel for every early shipping.
