Exactly that! When I was living on the street, we used to call the fire "stoneage-tv". Because the human brains have such a long history of staring "into" the fire, I have the mild suspicion, that reading on e-ink displays without a backlight might make it less likely to get lost in thoughts, than when staring on a "glowing" screen. Unfortunately the only competetive screens are still rather expensive (paperlike)..

..damn, I got lost in offtopic thoughts again! ; )

It's an interesting thought! If you had a Twitter account in your bio, I would have followed it.

I think it means workers who, for example, climb on industrial chimneys for maintenance.

That's not even far fetched, the ever expanding possibilities of targeting individuals through the big data evolution, will clearly lead to some nightmare like this. My hope is that capitalism will be rendered obsolete through cultural and technological progress, before we arrive there. Stuff like this always reminds me on YTCracker's cyberpunk Album "Introducing Neals"

"...big data and your love live after this..."

The problem is that technical progress is much faster than cultural one. Human nature is basically the same it was 2000 years ago: people in power want more power. And while the totalitarism of early 20th century had eventually fallen, the totalitarism powered by constant surveillance, Big Data, Machine Learning has a potential to be so effective we won't be able to escape it. Some elements of that are already implemented in China (think: Great Firewall).

Not a native speaker, I don't understand the meaning of "filled up urns for meeting rooms"?

The big coffee containers with taps (e.g. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hamilton-Beach-42-Cup-Coffee-Urn-...) that get set out by hotels and other event spaces for people to pour themselves coffee.

They tend to sit out over a heat source and, if the coffee wasn't lousy to begin with, it is after it's been burning over a flame or other heat source for an hour or two.

heronymus, if it is still not clear, the "urn" is the large coffee pot.

(not a native English speaker myself, and I tried my best to interpret your difficulty).

The big coffee buckets used for big meetings and conferences. Usually the coffee is bad in them.

>This is discussed in the article; the de Broglie-Bohm interpretation relies on a global pilot wave, which has non-locality issues that pilot wave theory hoped to avoid.

Isn't it the other way round? Pilot-Wave theory having issues with non-locality that de Broglie-Bohm hoped to avoid?

So, Vine?

It seems like all those videos are staged. I mean, that's okay I guess, just kind of weird.

Nice, thank you, I like the site and really enjoyed reading this.

(written on my Thinkpad, which has a "real" keyboard) ; )

The first link I found was this:

It seems to be plausible, that by adapting a healthy diet, at least the risk can be lowered and the onset delayed.

But my impression is, that a lot of factors, like poison from the environment (not only food and water, but also through the air) in combination with deseases, allergies and maybe medications etc, come together with genetic preconditions.
