I know you said you dont want mac, but I recommend apple only for the hardware. If you want linux, you can use Asahi Linux. Its in the beta stages but it allows your to harness mac’s superior hardware to develop on Linux. Apple is proven to make long lasting products that meet all the requirements you’ve list. Recommend M1 in particular, better than most intel and ARM laptops of its generation.

n-gate, can you please start writing again?

Why is the title justice league? I believe the previous title was more helpful

It's mentioned in their comment history that they're Australian.

I’m pretty sure all the people who are criticizing the database design haven’t read the ending. The article isn’t about the schema, it’s about helping those entry level programmers

It would be more effective at making that point if it didn’t have the confused and arguably incorrect section in the middle. If as a writer, the audience misses your point, maybe it’s a problem with your writing rather than the audience.

The problem is that the technical narrative in the post contributes to imposter syndrome and gaslights entry level programmers into thinking they’re doing database design wrong.

You don’t think it’s helpful for people to steer entry level programmers away from bad ideas like this one?

Seems like Joe Liemandt is killing American jobs. I wonder how many other people like him are out there destroying the american economy

I'm sorry that happened to you and also glad you're in a better place! :)

Some of my classes use LockDown browser as well and these are computer science courses so there was a lot of pushback due to privacy concerns, so I can sympathize with your viewpoint. Although a majority of students don't cheat, it's still awful that the behavior of a few dictates how the others are perceived.

If you don't mind doing it, you can reverse engineer it to remove the VM detections / make a stealthy VM.

Some of them use state of the art obfuscation to make this a PIA, others are not that good[0]

The one I've taken a look at(forgot it's name) was using VMProtect and had a competently written VM detection routine. It wasn't my exam so I recommended that they use a kvm switch instead of fumbling around with vm hiding tools.

This was something I attempted, but couldn't get it to work. At some point we just have to refuse.

A bit of a naive question I admit, but how do you even test hundreds millions of lines of code to ensure they all fit perfectly when different ECUs have different suppliers, and by customizing the car you can have different types of chips? Just curious how integration of all the components is done.

Also, there seem to be a lot of recalls due to software issues, so I wonder if there's any open source or anything close to it that has tools such as CI or VCS for newer electric car companies that use ECUs from different OEMs?

I'll be honest, the title of the announcement made by the justice department looks like a news article title written by journalists and not by a government office. I have nothing against journalists or attorneys, the subject just doesn't look right.

You made my day

Kind people like you who take time to help strangers are awesome!

I agree!
