what about that bezos company, blue origin, wouldnt they be a viable competitor? they seem to know what theyre doing and dont share the incompetence of boeing or the comedy of spacex.
even though im not a cheater in games, i wouldnt play a game that threatened to take me to court if they deemed me to be one. interesting thought though.
writing it in python makes me actually want to read the book, in fact i definitely will give it a read. if it was done in rust or go id probably skip it, and c++ is just too hard to look at for a fun project. will come back after reading and hopefully have something more meaningful to say about it.
rent stablisation, sounds great, we need that here in australia atm where there seems to be no upper bound the the corruption associated with housing related profits.
This. It works great for the few people who get into the system when it starts but it disincentivizes landlords from taking care of the building, and certainly from any major renovations, or from investing in new housing...
how do you get the system to change itself when it benefits so greatly from the status quo. massive protests? vote them out? those would require organisation and cooperation from people that can easily be turned against each other. no, the system stays as it is or gets worse. sorry to be a downer has there ever been a situation where massive self interest like this have been overcome?
I personally think this mission is amazing for many reasons. But the astronauts aren't free floating in space, they're just poking their heads out the hatch.
I have not read your links, but I can only assume from watching events unfold elsewhere that what is happening in Australia is a subset of the global situation.
