It's not that easy to just send him a laptop [1]:

>>I'd caution against posting a laptop to Bangladesh as there is a very real chance it'd spend the next six months sat in customs while an official looks for a pay off.

>Yeah, this is the reason I wasn't too keen on having stuff shipped from outside.

Yeah tricky part of the word.

We tried to ship banking 2FA devices to india and customs took them too.

200% useless to anyone but us, but confiscated anyway

You wouldn't feel the stiffness of an aluminium frame as much on a track. On the road, stiffness is a more important factor for rider comfort.

Waze Beacons [1] do this for car tunnels. Some underground systems, e.g. in Barcelona IIRC, also use BLE beacons to help phones position themselves.

Outside of North America, it would be bizarre to not include VAT. Anytime you see the € or £ symbol, you can assume it's VAT included.

I am outside of North America and have been for about 3/4 of my adult life.

The issue with adding VAT to prices on a forum with people living in a lot of different places is that VAT rates vary greatly from place to place.

To get an idea what an Apple product costs, it's more helpful to look at the price charged prior to taxes, tax deductions, educational discounts and other factors that will depend entirely on the specific cases of each reader.

The article explains it very well.

Indeed, I worked at Apple in Spain where the offices and stores are part of general unions. In my office, there were 2 unions present.

If you want a deep-dive into the mathematics as well, I really liked Ray Tracing from the Ground Up by Kevin Suffern [1]. The book focuses on the theory and mathematics of ray tracing, and uses C++ to build a ray tracer. The code however is simple and explained really well so you could adapt it to the programming language of your choice.

Someone will definitely see it, but maybe not take action on it. Now that it's on HN, it will definitely get more traction.

FYI, your links says "Image not found"
