Of course, this is not the ethos, and whatshisface is completely wrong on account of also of having a forgettable name. I'll often see someone chime in to agree as well as to disagree, to clarify. It's all just a bit.

Killing our entire civilization now. Now.

In case you thought I disagree with you, this might clarify why this is just a difference in tense: If you have malignant cancer, it is "killing you now" (you are in the process of dying of something) but only later on will it actually "kill you" (ie. you will become dead).

The SEC is expected to announce ESG rules for companies this year for Type I, Type II, and Type III emissions. You might find opportunity there down the road. Nonprofits like the Climate Disclosure Project (CDP) currently fulfill the role of emissions reporting to an extent, but the SEC rules may standardize and may add more value to their reporting even if it changes the nonprofit's operations. These accounting rule changes will require public companies to report their climate change risks and emissions, and to provide assurance regarding those risks and emissions. By assurance, I mean that auditors will need to come and audit their environmental reporting. You might try looking into that.

I honestly can't recommend going to work for a Big 4 accounting firm, because you'll find better hours and pay elsewhere. You might want to check out cloudaccountingjobs.com. A lot of small and growing firms are offering SMB consulting with a financial team to do cash flow projections and financial modelling that you might find interesting at places like High Rock accounting. Product or project managers are non-technical roles that are adjacent to technical roles that you might find interesting. Business analysis is always hiring. I'd suggest doing a couple of internships to explore your interests.

I'd trust each subject matter expert to report their 'beat' more accurately than some random author. Of course, 'it is ever the province of specialists to overstate their domain.' This nihilist argument that all journalists are generating nothing but fake news and lying is disingenuous in general. I understand healthy scepticism but dismissal of all news isn't a good idea. Being aware of biases is good, yes, but outright nihilism, no.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Is QAnon not an issue? The church of scientology? There are a lot of large groups of people "galvanized around one crazy theory." But, maybe you're right that if they're exposed to more, non crazy views that they'll be better off and less galvanized. How would we test the hypothesis? I wonder if you took some fox news viewers and showed them CNN for a month or so if that would change their worldview?

"All models are wrong. Some models are useful."

It's not that simple, and it never is that simple. Demand destruction in an economy predicated on consumer sentiment and ability to, well, consume ends poorly for us all. I don't see current trends, if they continue, going well for anyone.

"The child says: 'Mom won the piece of cake in the cake-lottery, she took a part for herself and made smaller pieces of it, given to me and my silblings.' +++ Commercial: 'We are the leading transport and deal plattform for cake, and the most liked farmer of your region are inviting you to the cake-lottery...' +++ " P-:

Yes, there was a comic about... hu (-;

I suppose that it depends on the book. A technical manual would require constant reference, Anki decks, and time to absorb the material. Something like Nand2Tetris might only require working through once or twice. If you have a project based book, then you can take it a project at a time and build from there. For me, learning accounting and physics back in the day required multiple references and exposure to learn something new and to learn it well. I think the most important factors are perseverance, trusting that you can do this, breaking big problems into small ones, and having multiple sources for the same material in case it doesn't 'click' in only one source. My two cents. I hope this helps.

And we'll being going to piracy if we had to watch ads on top of paying a monthly fee. This would be ridiculous. There's advertising almost everywhere else. Why do we need more advertising?

Pretty sure the advertising industry won't be happy until every human on the planet is required by law to tolerate 24/7 advertising beamed directly into their brains.

I think it is called "sharenting" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharenting
