More likely than the SLS being ready.

If we were somehow able to liquidate the net worth of every billionaire in the US without any losses it might just about cover UBI, $1000/month for every adult, for one year. How are you planning to fund it for every year after the first.

So, it sounds like anyone that shows up can get food.

Did public schools previously provide 3 meals a day?

I remember even 20 years ago, it was guaranteed 2 and for certain cases ppl would get an after school meal.

Using american-english dictionary from aspell [1] and filtering for lines that only contain lower case letters [2] gives you 77649 words. For four words that gives approx 64 bits of entropy [3].

[1] Probably available on a Linux system at /usr/share/dict/american-english

[2] '^[a-z]+$'

[3] log_2(77649^4)

BGP not having security has caused many problems.

BGP over some new fancy transport protocol will cause way more problems.

Practically? Yes it will cause all kinds of chaos.

Theoretically? Depends on the transport and it's characteristics. There could be a theoretical gain to using something else.

BGP has some security. It's called rpki and the industry is slowly adopting it.

Other than captive portals, what would be harmed by adding encryption. It might not provide benefit but is there any downside?

What is using TCP that wouldn't work with QUIC?

According to the article there is currently nothing that can be done for simplesamlphp. You could open an issue on Github for it.

> SimpleSAMLphp’s IDP supports key rollover but no way to specify unique keys for individual service providers. There might be a way to configure it but if so, it’s not mentioned in the documention and I’m not excited to try it myself.
