Isn't that pretty much just d7 without the d7 EoL? Better to migrate a d7 site to it (assuming a rebuild with current Drupal is too much work or doesn't have necessary modules) than run d7 despite EoL, but I'm not sure it makes sense to spin up a new site using it over current Drupal.
It started off as a fork of d7 (really very early d8) but it's since diverged into it's own thing. It still has a core that is d7 compatible, so migrating is very simple (you can import a d7 database and it just works), but the theming layer is different. It's placed an emphasis on usability and modernization.
It's definitely a good choice for migrating from d7, and could also be a great choice for a new site for someone who enjoys working on a classic drupal stack.
The people behind it are great, but the community right now is kind of small.
These things take time to sort out. Anyone moving platforms now, due to the drama, isn't going to show up in surveys/polls until after they've migrated. And depending on the size of their site, a migration could take the better part of a year. I expect we'll see how the sands are shifting by next July.
Good point on the timing, but I really hope Wordpress users aren't migrating to Drupal en masse.
Drupal would be a very poor fit for most Wordpress-y sites (simple marketing pages, basic ecommerce, etc.). It's overkill and way too complicated and requires endless maintenance (see my rant in a sibling thread).
There are a lot of better, lighter options for people who liked the ease-of-use of Wordpress.
There are also a lot of commercial headless CMSes (https://cms-comparison.io/#/card) that are good fits for devs who want to code a frontend (in a framework/language of their choice) for non-dev clients. (Disclaimer: I work for a headless CMS, but this is my own opinion). Wordpress can do headless too with the Advanced Custom Fields plugin, but that was previously bought by WPEngine and now caught in the crossfire between them and Matt :( https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/
Anecdotally but from the list you just provided, ghost seemed the least cluttered and seems like an old basic webpage with modern looks. Not hating on any other solution though, whatever works for you is great....and maby I need a larger sample size to judge fairly.
I like the state sensor idea, more than the airtag bracelet. But ultimately I think this is a regulatory disaster. Let the new parents put their babies in the front passenger seat again, and you stop the problem at the source. Humans are creatures of habit, and these stories of parents losing their children because of a stupid law is too tragic to bear.
hmm.. no, I don't think it is all on your side, sad to say. I was with you until I read this message you sent to Heather Brunner:
>> If you decline, on Monday morning, I tell Greg Mondres:
* Lee's refusal to negotiate terms to resolve our conflict.
* Your interviewing with Automattic over the past year.
* I will possibly tell the press all of the above.
That's just so obviously threatening and uncalled for. Even if Brunner were considering jumping ship, you shouldn't threaten someone into accepting an offer.
Now, you don't know me from Adam, but I want you to strongly, strongly consider that this thing that you've been afraid of happening, has actually already happened. And that is, that you have become Evil Matt -- with the little horns on your head and everything. And to get back to being Good Matt, you're going to have to let some things go.

Hi Pablo, I agree w/ thetopher that this needs more transparency. If you're happy to show your receipts to date, you should do so on the website. Also, offer a way to contact you (email, phone, something) that isn't twitter.
