Product Hunt

GnuPG and Werner Koch comes to mind, there was this HN thread 10 years ago https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=9003791

Also Fabrice Bellard of FFMpeg and his projects comes to mind.

I might be wrong too.

The channel definitely depends on the the product/service and where the ideal customer(s) are hanging out.

At an early stage, experimenting is important.

Other channels work well, too, such as Reddit, Youtube, blogs, etc.

Not sure why this is downvoted. I settled with spreadsheets after trying out lots of such trackers. The frustration in your comment, I can feel. A lots of similar comments also reflecting the same about spreadsheets.

I wasn't really trying to be negative about the original post. That last 10% can be super valuable for many people!

Manually adding/importing has always been a hassle for me to get into these apps. For the hassle one has to go through to get the data in, I would just settle for an excel sheet. Let me how you folks are integrating various banks/cards/stock brokers with investment apps?

Importing CSV might look easy, but banks, at least in the country that I live in does not have a standard. One might end up spending more time cleaning up the data.

> Being active on Reddit

This has gotten really frustrating since the exclusivity agreement. Reddit now has no way to search for privacy mind folks that refuse to use Google.

That said, this is probably good for mental health as it means less time on Reddit.

It is frustrating. You can still get info from reddit pretty easily though.

On Android, Red Reader still works and is free. The built in search works pretty well. It's much a much better experience than reddit in a browser. You don't have to have an account for it (unless you want to post and such).

Reddit posts still show up in ddg results.

Startpage.com will get you google results without using google.
