Especially primed by all the lord of the rings movies, for example; I could see the studio taking all the archived footage, camera angles, all the extra data that was generated in the creation of the films and feeding that into something like this model to create all kinds of interesting additional material.
Judging a legislature by how many bills it passes is like judging programming productivity by lines of code produced, and has the same issue that Edsger Dijkstra identified with the latter: it should be lines spent, not produced. "The current wisdom is so foolish as to book that count on the wrong side of the ledger."
I started experimenting yesterday and I was delighted that the templater strings I set up at my computer were functioning on my phone. I’m excited about it because the lack of good system wide text expansion on the phone has been frustrating for me, and it looks like using obsidian will be a way to define pretty complex templates and be able to create and edit notes on my phone using them.
What's there to expand on? Do you not realize how bad of a look it is for a company to publicly admit, on their own blog, the amount of time and engineering effort they spent to package up, move, analyze, and sell all their customer's private data?
This is why laws like CCPA "do not sell my personal information" exist, which I certainly hope Notion is abiding by, otherwise they'll have lawyers knocking on their door soon.
Right, yes, tone aside that’s very helpful- at first I didn’t understand the implication of the blog post for implementing customer hostile solutions, but you’ve helped me understand it now.
My interpretation is that this change is the result of the "Recall" feature on Windows which captures the activity on the machine... does the timing line up for that to be plausible?
Many of the teachers at my primary school work 3 or 4 days a week. There are just 2 teachers per class. They also have other roles within the school, like helping gifted children, or those with dyslexia.. etc.
