Made a button to "Make it an ASCII Map!" showing relationships between concepts, had a lot of fun. Nice one!

Especially primed by all the lord of the rings movies, for example; I could see the studio taking all the archived footage, camera angles, all the extra data that was generated in the creation of the films and feeding that into something like this model to create all kinds of interesting additional material.

This is a great tool!

> Here’s one about bills passed

Judging a legislature by how many bills it passes is like judging programming productivity by lines of code produced, and has the same issue that Edsger Dijkstra identified with the latter: it should be lines spent, not produced. "The current wisdom is so foolish as to book that count on the wrong side of the ledger."

I started experimenting yesterday and I was delighted that the templater strings I set up at my computer were functioning on my phone. I’m excited about it because the lack of good system wide text expansion on the phone has been frustrating for me, and it looks like using obsidian will be a way to define pretty complex templates and be able to create and edit notes on my phone using them.

Could you expand on this?

What's there to expand on? Do you not realize how bad of a look it is for a company to publicly admit, on their own blog, the amount of time and engineering effort they spent to package up, move, analyze, and sell all their customer's private data?

This is why laws like CCPA "do not sell my personal information" exist, which I certainly hope Notion is abiding by, otherwise they'll have lawyers knocking on their door soon.

Where do they say they sell it? Citation needed; that's a legal and reputational minefield that I don't think they would admit to, like you said.

I would challenge you to find any broker who sells data (like the T-Mobile location data scandal) who says plainly and clearly they sell user data.

This is not answering the question.

Right, yes, tone aside that’s very helpful- at first I didn’t understand the implication of the blog post for implementing customer hostile solutions, but you’ve helped me understand it now.

Is there any feature rich open source option for MacOS? I use and enjoy free shot on windows but I’ve struggled to find good options for the mac

I use Flameshot on Linux, and I've found that Shottr works great on macOS.

Flameshot works on macOS, too.

MacOS has pretty strong screenshot capabilities out of the box; honestly, makes me want the same for Windows.

My interpretation is that this change is the result of the "Recall" feature on Windows which captures the activity on the machine... does the timing line up for that to be plausible?

That wouldn’t affect Netflix at all, since it respects the protected draw or secure draw or whatever rights management term it is

It's unlikely that recall will be able to bypass the DRM on netflix

That’s some really nice intellectual property they have there.

Be a shame if someone thought about it.

When teachers are also parents how will schools staff classes on day five?

Work week length might be an all or nothing proposition.

Many of the teachers at my primary school work 3 or 4 days a week. There are just 2 teachers per class. They also have other roles within the school, like helping gifted children, or those with dyslexia.. etc.
