And here you are, making comments about people making comments about Musk on HN.

Anything I say above not true?

You claim that people hate Musk because of jealousy and/or politics. I don’t see any evidence of that. What I see is people being unwilling to entrust their lives to someone with a recent history of incredibly childish and questionable behavior. He shitposts on Twitter all day and runs his companies like a pig-headed 19th century baron. I don’t detect an iota of leadership in the man anymore: only ego.

Why would functional FSD emerge from a company with a toxic culture like Tesla’s? Any self-respecting engineer with advanced skills will jump ship at the first opportunity.

You're conceding that you're more preoccupied with his tweets (i.e., his politics) than his actual achievements, which perfectly supports my point. Thousands of highly skilled engineers continue working at his companies, and they aren’t "jumping ship." It’s not incompetent engineers that are behind innovations like FSD 12, Cybertruck, Falcon 9, Starship, Raptor 3, and so on. These are complex, cutting-edge technologies—stupid engineers don't create them.

People need stable long-term housing, which is a need that free-market economics can’t really fulfill. It is not humane to have to worry about your rent becoming unaffordable year after year.

The big companies will sign lucrative data sharing deals with each other and build a collective moat, while open source models will be left to rot. Copyright for thee but not for me.

As I recall, the Luddites were reacting to the replacement of their jobs with industrialized low-cost labor. Today, many of our clothes are made in sweatshops using what amounts to child and slave labor.

Maybe it would have been better for humanity if the Luddites won.

No, it would not have been better for humanity if the Luddites had won. You'd have to be misguided, ignorant, or both to believe something like that.

It is not possible to rehabilitate the Luddites. If you insist on attempting to do so, there are better venues.

This venue seems great to me. The topic has come up many times in the past: https://hn.algolia.com/?q=luddite

The company spearheading AI is blatantly violating its non-profit charter in order to maximize profits. If the very stewards of AI are willing to be deceptive from the dawn of this new era, what hope can we possibly have that this world-changing technology will benefit humanity instead of funneling money and power to a select few few oligarchs?

Trickle-down effects

It is user hostile and extremely patronizing. I agree with parent: my Logitech wireless mouse is used wirelessly 99% of the time, but it’s really nice to be able to use it in wired mode when I forget to charge it.

State-sanctioned homicide does not seem like justice to me, especially when there are false positives. And taking things into your own hands will just land you in that same prison cell, which your loved ones probably would not appreciate.

Does anyone understand AI?

No. That's why a lot of people are scared of it.

They moved on because OpenAI immediately removed the voice.

They removed a voice. The one that was removed didn’t sound much like her, but I guess it was the closest.

clearly her, her friends, and a lot of fans disagreed. and OpenAI didn't hedge their bets on "it didn't sound much like her", so I'm inclined to believe it was the closest.

Seems like he was targeted by people of his own political persuasion in both cases. So, yeah, maybe Trump should in fact tone down his violent rhetoric.
