That's really cool! Thanks for link. I guess I just never assumed that would be open sourced!

Old versions of Reddit (in Python IIRC) were open source. They just stopped updating it.

I feel like the article itself does a pretty good job of introducing a lot of the core topics with a short paragraph for each

Meh. This list looks like a laundry list for someone trying to write a class on distributed computing. It’s a conversation among peers, that is about beginners, not for them. If the author wished for something else they haven’t accomplished it. Far too dry.

What part in there gave you that impression? I had a read through and it seemed okay. Maybe I missed something.

If anything I feel like becoming more emotionally mature opened up my dating pool, and made me a better partner. Ultimately you are better off being with someone who you can talk about your emotions with.

I've been in relationships where I couldn't talk about my problems, and being unable to talk about them didn't make those problems disappear.

I feel like Discords version works a lot better than Slacks for public communities. Someone has the option to pay as an individual rather than requiring a workspace owner to pay for everyone, which is impractical when there are 1000+ members.

Great post. I feel like I've gone through a similar cycle, but I've found that journaling rather then meditation was what I was drawn to. Sitting down and writing about what I'm worried about and what my priorities are has proven to be a great balancing force in my life. Though I'm still not doing it too regularly, I notice quite a lot of mental clarity after a short session.

It's not a short summary, but if you are into podcasts then Behind the Bastards have a two parter on him.

Amazing. I had a few questions about pathfinding inspiration since I had just watched NoClips video on Rollarcoaster Tycoon, but your linked video is already so in depth!

In this context I believe he is referring to dependency injection.

I guess I meant to ask what they mean by dependency injection. A bare version is just passing dependencies as arguments and I can't imagine what is so egregious about that. Maybe they mean something more complicated?

Given "I write my own harnesses as needed", I read the parent as talking about DI frameworks, not the general concept of DI. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dependency_injection#Dependenc...

It sounds interesting, but I hate that they resort to clickbait style titles. If the information is that important then at least it deserves a more descriptive title. At least the HN title has been updated.
