> Having to work in an office for $300k/year

More like $98k/year on average

As a senior person at AWS? Even so, that's more than most engineers earn at the end of their career here.

How "distasteful."

My 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV does exactly this with SuperCruise, in layers. Look away from the road for a few seconds? Visible warning. Keep looking away? Audible warning. Still looking away? SuperCruise disables, slows the vehicle to a stop, and calls OnStar.

and no moving internal parts + mostly sealed from dust. I'll do the same with mine.

Fwiw my 2012 mbp still runs. Takes in plenty of dust working outside and on account of the plastic hinge turning brittle and falling apart years ago. Once every two years I will open her up and blow her clean again. Thats about all the maintenance she needs today. Ironically it has somewhat stronger specs than gps new m1 air, considering I also have 16gb memory, but then 1.5tb of storage and 2 operating systems.

I'm not even sure the first part is. I logged into a Guest Account on my Mac and the default for 'New tabs open with:' is the 'Start Page', which is a blank page with history, bookmarks, frequently visited, etc.

Add my vote as a satisfied user. The M1 Air is the best personal laptop I've ever used. The battery life is just impeccable, it has plenty of power for what I need, and I imagine the longevity of this thing will be great because of the lack of fan and entry points for dust.

Scrum masters shouldn't be contributing ideas in terms of implementation or design unless they're also part of the dev team. They're there to facilitate. Product owners are probably more akin to "idea guys".

Edit: Even product owner is a bit of a stretch on my part. They're presenting user stories and requirements, which the dev team can pick and choose from the backlog (which, albeit, is prioritized by the product owner).

Waymo employees are still Googlers effectively. They ride the same buses, eat in the same cafeterias, go to the TGIF meetings, etc.

I use case-insensitive autocomplete (with zsh), and don't see myself switching back anytime soon.

Looks cool! I'll check it out.
