FourKites | Multiple Roles | Offices in Chicago, IL and Chennai | Remote or On Site | Full Time | https://www.fourkites.com/

At FourKites we’re building the future of supply chain visibility. This is a great opportunity to get into a growing technical team that is redefining and modernizing as we scale to the next level.

Our stack consists of Python, GoLang and Java on the back-end. React front ends leveraging an atomic design system. And Postgres, Redis, Cassandra, Kafka, Airflow among others for our data needs. Deployments in AWS and Azure using containers, k8s and automation.

We’re interesting in hiring for multiple roles, but are particularly interested in awesome DevOps and Front End Engineers.

Please check out the open positions (these are not all of them) at https://www.fourkites.com/current-openings or email hn-jobs@fourkites.com

I don’t think making “SDK” a bad word is a good idea.

I get that maybe they are trying to simplify things for non-software people, but this seems a poor attempt.

Just waiting for someone to interpret it as a software deception kit.

This seems to be a root document with more links:

After having worked on government contracts for many, many years - this is an amazing leap forward - I had to do some googling. DIB is the Defense Innovation Board (https://innovation.defense.gov/) which consists of some big names (Neil Degrasse Tyson, Eric Schmidt, Reid Hoffman, Marne Levine, among others).

Interestingly CGI is a Canadian company...

CGI Federal is run mostly independently to get around the laws preventing foreign companies from bidding on US government contracts. Source: I used to work there.

CGI is a Canadian company, but CGI Federal is a wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary.

Great work, wonderful to see voxel engines becoming more popular and feasible. Also check out http://procworld.blogspot.ca/ great technical write-ups on the engine chosen by Sony for EQ2.

Everquest II was released in 2004, I believe you mean Everquest Next. The voxel engine in the game looks very exciting. Modifying individual blocks after they're placed blew my mind.

Yes - I have been following Miguel's work for some time (and apparently he checks out my work sometimes too) :)

My grandfather took the time to teach me some BASIC back when I was around 7 years old, and it led to my career. I've been working at teaching programming to my kids as well, but the video here inspired me to give the same chance to other kids...

I contacted the principal at my kids elementary school and offered to use my expertise to help any way I could. We get so caught up in what we're doing, it's easy to forget that just a small bit of effort can have a significant impact on peoples lives.
