It would be wonderful to have such datasets in public domain if they are FOIA-able - then they should be in a dataset that public can throw into LLMs...
You know who is sitting on a goldmine: Oil & gas -- all their geological info secrets are literally priceless at this point - obviously these will never be public because then we will find out how Oil is really created by subterranean lizard people in the hollow earth or something neat.
But if we could see what is gleaned from Oil & Gas efforts, it could have an unimaginable impact on our understanding of the geologics of earth - just because it would be so much highly rigorous datasets just due to their seeking to pinpoint oil fields, the amount of datapoints taken and samples, and efforts, and results and old fields depleted, and how new ones were discovered, and the techs developeed to do such.
Oil and gas is such an evil industry because it relies on deception, obfuscation and "drinking everyone else's milkshakes" at the expense of Human Progress for profits....
Funny how the premise of Alien ad Avatar and so many other Space EPics - is the expansion of the Earthling's Resource Exploitation Class
