Wait, what is the definition of radiation hardening? Radiation would flip one random bit at a time, not delete a whole character in one go.

I think it’s just aesthetically reminiscent of radiation hardening. Pretty sure protecting agains arbitrary bit flips is impossible. If the MSB of the first character gets flipped, the code is illegal no matter what you do.

Maybe you could have bit-flip resistant assembly? I hardly know assembly so I don't know if there are opcodes 1-bit apart that could work together.
