No grunge classics in there at all. Is it sample bias, or were they never as popular in terms of raw sales as the pop songs used?



I think yeah, there's no hard rock or grunge in the list whatsoever, just pop music. I mean "Smells like Teen Spirit" was a smash hit.

edit: it seems it only ever peaked at no.6 on the billboard top 100, even though it probably sold a lot more than some songs on this chart.
