If you’ve been looking for a while I think it’s totally normal to get some deep depression regardless of how you identify. Interviewing is stressful and draining and feels incredibly arbitrary. Also, at least in the US, your employment is absolutely tied to your quality of life; unemployment benefits are a joke and you’re on your own after they run out. I’d be depressed as well.

Not saying I disagree with you though, I think identifying heavily with your job makes it even worse.
